西城男孩(Westlife)

Westlife的前身可以说是IOU，由其成员Shane和Mark先后认识了Kian,Nicky和Bryan后组队，Westlife的成名可谓英格兰岛上的又一传奇，他们以清纯的外表和抒情流行的演唱风格，一经出道就夺取了千百万欧陆少年的心，其势头不可阻挡，就连外来的成功组合Back Street Boys和N\'SYNC等等都难以招架。成为续take that和boyzone以来又一支令人疯狂热爱的男孩组合。在boyzone主唱罗南的倾心栽培下，Westlife在1999年11月发行的第一张专辑『Westlife』。这张同名专辑一上市就以强劲势头冲击英国流行音乐排行榜：先是第一首出道单曲『swear it again』勇夺全英单曲排行榜冠军，并获得Smash Hits杂志年度最佳新人团体，再接再厉第二首单曲『if I let you go』再次首周荣登全英冠军单曲宝座，这创下了英国男孩乐团史第一个拥有连续2首单曲，首周进榜就拿到冠军的乐团，秋季金曲『flying without wings』三度在全英单曲排行榜称王……在这张Westlife的同名专辑里，一共有五首金曲登上过英国流行乐的冠军位置，它们是:1.swear it again; 2.if I let you go.3.flying without wings 4.fool again.5.seasons in the Sun。这张专辑几乎首首精品，特别值得推荐的除了这几首金曲外，还有I don\'t wanna fight,I need you, more than word，miss you ,open your heart， try again，we are one。2000年Westlife继续创造辉煌，先是9月与天后Mariah Carey共同演唱了Phil Collins的经典老歌against all odds，成为他们的第六首冠军曲。之后在10月他们的第二张专辑Coast To Coast(咫尺天涯）中的单曲My love更为他们锦上添花，作为他们的第八首冠军曲，Westlife打平了The Beatles（甲壳虫乐队）连续单曲夺冠的记录，12月，他们的新单曲『what makes a man』虽然没有成为冠军单曲，但却在单曲榜前十名停留数月之久，成为有史以来他们销量最好的金唱片！2001年，Westlife在世界巡回演出，形成了强大的宣传攻势；3月份翻唱自Billy Joel的uptown girl再度夺冠，从而，他们以8首冠军单曲的成绩打破了吉尼斯世界记录！！
